NEEDHAM, Mass., Oct. 10, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — The Industrial Internet Consortium® (IIC), the world’s leading organization transforming business and society by accelerating the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), and the Augmented Reality Enterprise Alliance (AREA), a global non-profit, member-based organization dedicated to the widespread adoption of interoperable Augmented Reality (AR)-enabled enterprise systems, announced they have agreed to a liaison to work together to advance their shared interests. Under the agreement, the IIC and the AREA will work together to align efforts to maximize interoperability, portability, security and privacy for the industrial Internet and for tapping the benefits of Augmented Reality within IIoT environments.

Joint activities between the IIC and the AREA will include:

• Collaboration on joint marketing activities through established liaison channels
• Collaboration on AR related use cases, requirements, security, safety, and research
• Collaboration on testbeds
