PALO ALTO, Calif., Sept. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Cognifyd, a startup in Palo Alto, CA, has announced that it is ready to help marketers and salespeople create more effective written communication with its online proofreading editor. Not well known beyond a select few in Silicon Valley, Cognifyd is sharing its marketing and sales tool with with a wider audience.

Silicon Valley executives and Venture Capitalists have been privately using Cognifyd’s online proofreader to improve their communication. And, some select customers outside Silicon Valley have been using it and giving feedback on the early product. The company has over 180 users.

Cognifyd is an online proofreading editor that uses artificial intelligence to give feedback on the effectiveness of business writing. Cognifyd is part of a new category of software called “augmented intelligence”. And, their first product is a new type of software for businesses called “augmented communication” that will review and improve written communication at work.

Cognifyd is based on the founder’s experience at a Fortune 500 company where he worked in the innovation group.

“I came up with the idea in 2013 while sitting at a large table proofreading marketing materials with a large group of people from Legal, Marketing, PR, Brand, and Innovation,” says Will Murphy, the founder and CEO. “I realized companies spend a lot of time and money to get the message right. Communication and brand are important. We weren’t proofreading spelling and grammar, we were proofreading for things based on our expertise in legal, brand, and marketing. I realized this expertise didn’t exist in a software proofreader yet. But if it did, it could be used in customer-facing communication, improving customer experience, and lowering communication risk.”

After a multi-year stint leading product at a successful artificial intelligence startup in Boston, and co-founding one of the first blockchains for artificial intelligence, Will circled back to the idea he was fascinated by years before. “The technology started catching up to my vision of augmented intelligence.” Will says, “We finally built it and launched it. We knew this software needed to exist.”

Rick Yost, Will’s co-founder is a veteran entrepreneur and saw value immediately. Based on his deep experience in business, technology, and leadership (as well as being an attorney), he understood that the solution was new and also that it met an array of unmet business needs. Rick has been leading the software development efforts and has successfully launched Cognifyd’s demo product.

The startup began with simple tenets. Over the next decade, Will predicts, “every knowledge worker will have an assistant helping them do their job by augmenting their intelligence. Our goal is to lower the cognitive load of humans by augmenting their intelligence with software.” And, he says “we give our customers communication superpowers.”

“Stay tuned,” Will says, “we have a lot of new technology in store, and we’re currently talking to stellar investors, advisors, and employees to expand the business and set the standard for the new software category we’re pioneering.” Cognifyd is currently raising early funding from investors.

Cognifyd launched in August 2018 in Palo Alto, CA. Cognifyd was co-founded by Will Murphy and Rick Yost. Will is a repeat innovator, entrepreneur, and pioneer in the areas of the Internet of Things and artificially intelligent agents. And, Rick is a repeat entrepreneur, executive, and technologist with extensive leadership experience.
