AUSTIN, Texas, Aug. 29, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Hypergiant, the office of machine intelligence, today announced their partnership with The University of Texas at Austin (UT) to offer Designing for Artificial Intelligence, a new course created to give students a competitive advantage in the increasingly technical, modern workplace. Starting August 29th, the course will teach students how to apply design thinking to the complicated technologies of tomorrow, including machine learning and artificial intelligence.

The course, offered by the Center for Integrated Design, will be taught by Hypergiant co-founder John Fremont, who is currently the Chief Strategy Officer of Hypergiant Space Age Solutions and was previously a Managing Director and the Artificial Intelligence Lead for Accenture. Hypergiant’s unique curriculum will teach students how to maximize the benefits of these technologies for real world business applications, and how to apply skills for visual, verbal, and technical creative problem-solving.

“Through my own work with Hypergiant, I’ve seen how properly deployed AI or machine learning can impact a business’s bottom line,” said Fremont. “Too often, questions of technology and business protocol are siloed. With our curriculum, we hope to illustrate that technological advancement and sustainable business growth are intimately linked. UT’s students are go-getters, hoping to influence markets and change the world. I’m honored to be able to pass on my skills to what I view as the next generation of entrepreneurs, problem-solvers, and creators.”

The Center for Integrated Design has long pushed the envelope within UT, striving to teach design thinking that can have practical benefits for students’ job search and beyond. Increasingly, this has meant giving students the foundations of a machine learning and data science education, regardless of major.

“We want to ensure that our students get cutting-edge instruction in the latest advances in artificial intelligence design,” said Doreen Lorenzo, Assistant Dean for the School of Design and Creative Technologies. “We’re delighted to partner with Hypergiant to deliver the Designing for Artificial Intelligence course and to give our students the hands-on experience and skills needed to pursue jobs in this fast-growing industry.”

According to a recent study, 41 percent CIOs say they lack staff skills to manage intelligent machines, while 47 percent say they lack budget to develop those new skills. As a leading provider of AI to the Fortune 500, Hypergiant is committed to helping solve this problem from the ground-level, with education. Just as they have helped upgrade the workforce of their customers, Hypergiant is helping to upgrade the workforce of tomorrow with the young professionals of today.

“At Hypergiant, we have been the guiding light for major brands across industries when it comes to machine intelligence,” said Ben Lamm, CEO and co-founder of Hypergiant. “We are extending that mission to the young men and women who will be defining the future of business with how they build, deploy, and leverage these powerful technologies.”

The course will be taking place at The University of Texas at Austin, College of Fine Arts, Center for Integrated Design. Starting Wednesday, August 29th, it will run through December 5, 2018.
