LOS ANGELES, Jan. 24, 2018 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — The Michelson 20MM Foundation is proud to announce the addition of AdmitHub to its expanding investment portfolio of education technology companies. The Boston-based startup has pioneered the creation of a conversational artificial intelligence (AI) platform designed to guide students to and through college. AdmitHub’s AI is particularly useful in helping at-risk students navigate the complexities of transitioning into college, while improving student yield and retention rates.

“Our experience in the education space has showed us that many young people, especially first-generation and Pell-grant eligible students, face challenges when entering college that force them to withdraw from school, sometimes even before beginning their first semester,” says Dr. Gary K. Michelson, founder of The Michelson 20MM Foundation. “AdmitHub’s proven AI technology supports students by guiding them through college to help them stay enrolled, which aligns with the 20MM mission of expanding higher education opportunities.”

Within 24 months of launch, AdmitHub has ramped up to more than 80,000 student users, reaching them via MMS, email, and Facebook Messenger. The AI has provided answers to hundreds of thousands of questions, helping students figure out how to apply for financial aid, register for classes, and apply for housing. The system frees up colleges’ limited human resources, while boosting their key metrics and bottom line.

AdmitHub has a growing number of institutional partners, including Georgia State University, University of Memphis, West Texas A&M, and Arizona State University – which is set to launch in early February. At Georgia State University, 94% of students recommended that GSU introduce the AI to next year’s class, and enjoy using the platform as a judgement-free space where they can ask questions and receive instantaneous answers 24/7.

“Whether it be endless paperwork requirements or tuition sticker shock, college-bound students face numerous obstacles that often overwhelm them,” says AdmitHub CEO Andrew Magliozzi. “Our virtual assistants engage students where they are and provide support any time, day or night. We’re excited that the Michelson 20MM Foundation believes in our work to help students achieve excellence in post-secondary education.”

AdmitHub joins the Michelson 20MM Foundation’s growing roster of education technology start-ups that also includes ReUp Education, Motimatic, Pragya Systems, Lrnr, and PackBack.
