The former CEO of “SOCAR-AQS” LLC, Ramin Isayev (also known as Ramin Ali Hakan as in Turkish Passport) has been arrested early July 2023.
According to information obtained by “Qafqazinfo” and several sources (including: Milli.Az, Konkret, MeydanTV and APA), a criminal case has been initiated in Azerbaijan against Ramin Isayev under Article 179.4 (embezzlement, particularly on a large scale) of the Criminal Code in the Anti-Corruption General Directorate with Prosecutor General’s Office. This article provides for imprisonment from 10 to 14 years.
Isayev is accused of embezzling 16 million manats.
It was also revealed that Ramin Isayev got Turkish citizenship and changed his name in his Turkish passport to Ramin Ali Hakan.
By the decision of the Binagadi District Court, Ramin Isayev was sentenced to a 4-month pretrial detention measure.
It should be noted that Ramin Isayev was relieved of his position as CEO of “SOCAR-AQS” LLC in 2020.
