Tom Brady, Tampa Bay Buccaneers players and staff raise more than $117,000 for pediatric cancer research and encourage others to support the mission

TAMPA, Fla. (June 9, 2022) – The Tampa Bay Buccaneers continued championing the fight against childhood cancer through June 8’s “Cut and Color for a Cure” event, benefitting the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation (NPCF). More than 50 Buccaneers players and staff, including Tom Brady, had their heads and facial hair shaved or colored by pediatric cancer warriors and called on the community to help support the search for a cure at www.nationalpcf.org/bucs.

The Buccaneers raised more than $117,000 towards this year’s event, totaling the eight-year partnership donations at $600,000. Notable participants for the cause include head coach Todd Bowles, general manager Jason Licht, vice president of player personnel John Spytek and players including Tom Brady, Mike Evans, Will Gholston, Luke Goedeke, Logan Hall, Ryan Jensen, Pat O’Connor, Donovan Smith, and Tristan Wirfs.

“The time, money and support from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers truly demonstrate that they are more than just a sports team, but leaders in our community,” said National Pediatric Cancer Foundation CEO David Frazier. “With 43 children diagnosed with cancer each day, we are on a race to fund and find a cure, and we are grateful for the support from the Buccaneers… and beyond.”

The National Pediatric Cancer Foundation, a nonprofit organization headquartered in Tampa, is dedicated to funding research to eliminate childhood cancer. Its focus is to find less toxic, more targeted treatments by partnering with leading hospitals nationwide through research initiatives. NPCF is advocating for new solutions that promote significant advances in addressing pediatric cancer. Currently, the organization is seeking research proposals through The 43 Challenge program, a $4.3 million research grant opportunity for professionals in any field with innovative ideas to help cure childhood cancer.
