SAN DIEGO, Aug. 22, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — alwaysAI is pleased to announce new team members Vikram Gupta, Senior Director of Computer Vision and Deep Learning and Jason Koo in the key role of Developer Advocate. The San Diego artificial intelligence startup continues to build momentum by attracting significant talent and early adopters in computer vision and edge systems.
Vikram Gupta brings decades of engineering experience in artificial intelligence and 3G/4G wireless technologies, including 14 years at Qualcomm and most recently as the VP of Engineering at Yembo, an AI company in the home services industry. He holds a B.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology, Varanasi, and an M.S. from U.C. Riverside, both in Electrical Engineering. Gupta holds twelve patents across A.I. and 3G/4G wireless technologies. In his role as Senior Director of Computer Vision and Deep Learning at alwaysAI, Gupta’s depth of experience in AI services and embedded systems will result in increased platform capabilities for the computer vision developer community.
Also new to the team is Jason Koo as a Developer Advocate for the alwaysAI platform. Formerly a mobile software developer, Koo has worked on various teams that made integration SDKs, as well as building social, conference, and financial apps for both iOS and Android. He’s also been involved with the San Diego startup and developer community via assisting local meetups, helping maintain sdtechscene.org and providing technical advice for blogs and social posts. At alwaysAI, Koo is leading developer outreach to empower IoT developers, data scientists and software engineers who seek a faster and easier way to deliver computer vision applications on the edge.
“Our goal is to simplify the process for developers to create computer vision applications across the widest range of models, primitives and edge devices,” said Marty Beard, Co-Founder and CEO of alwaysAI. “We’ve received very positive feedback from developers in our testing workshops this summer. As we approach wider public availability this autumn, the addition of Vikram and Jason to the team is a significant boost for our developer-focused momentum and go-to-market strategy.”
The alwaysAI platform for creating deep learning computer vision on the edge is currently in beta. Registrations for the beta program are still open and developers are encouraged to apply at learn.alwaysai.co/beta.
