MIT Sloan Executive Education Launches "AI for National Security Leaders"

New course equips U.S. government and military leaders with crucial expertise to navigate the intersection of AI and national security

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Dec. 5, 2024 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — MIT Sloan Executive Education, in collaboration with the MIT Schwarzman College of Computing, today announces the launch of “AI for National Security Leaders,” a course specifically for U.S. government and military officials. This three-day, in-person program aims to provide leaders with the critical knowledge and strategic insights needed to navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of artificial intelligence (AI) within the context of national security. Interested participants can now enroll in either of the two sessions available: February 24-26, 2025, and July 21-23, 2025. Participants must be U.S. citizens who are active military or senior executives in the U.S. government (GS-15, SES, and Military O-6, Flag, or equivalent).

“Through this course, we’ll bring leaders up to speed on all things AI, providing critical insights on the strategic, tactical and ethical dimension of AI deployment so they are equipped to lead effectively while responding to emerging national threats.”

As AI technologies continue to reshape the landscape of defense, intelligence and security operations, staying ahead of emerging AI-driven threats is essential for maintaining national security. This course will equip participants with the expertise needed to integrate AI across government and military departments, manage AI-driven projects, and address challenges such as bias, data integrity, and security implications.

Roberto Fernandez, William F. Pounds Professor at the MIT Sloan School of Management, and Aleksander Madry, Cadence Design Systems Professor at MIT Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) lead this course alongside world-class faculty across MIT’s campus.
