TAMPA BAY, Fla., Feb. 6, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — In the coming year, global e-commerce sales are expected to grow to $6.3 trillion, positioning companies to transform their operations through integration of technology in order to compete and survive last mile logistics. Location intelligence systems equipped with IoT provide logistics companies with accurate geographic details about every vehicle in the fleet. Simultaneously, AI-powered route optimization tools streamline the entire process of delivering goods on time. Shippers and carriers face the complexity of solutions to significant costs.(1)

“The future of logistics lies in the integration of technology, where AI and machine learning work hand in hand. As tech visionary David Daeschler emphasizes, the key is understanding that AI becomes true artificial intelligence when it can autonomously solve any problem without specific training.”

Enter David Daeschler, tech visionary, who explains to Karla Jo Helms, the host of the Disruption/Interruption podcast, that knowledge of how AI and machine learning work together is key to integrating technology in finding solutions to the complexities of logistics. He shares his vision of the future of logistics and AI, explaining how technology empowers creativity and innovation.

Discussing some technology confusion Daeschler notes “There’s been this blurry line between what is machine learning and what is AI artificial intelligence. I don’t consider AI until it’s general. It can solve any problem on its own without needing to be trained specifically on any one thing, right? And we’re definitely approaching that with these new large language models.”
