Astral Resources NL (ASX:AAR) managing director Marc Ducler is back with Proactive’s Elisha Newell after the explorer intersected 344 gram-metres of gold at the Mandilla Gold Project’s Theia prospect.

The banner result is one of the best in Mandilla’s recent history and comes as the company moves towards a resource update later this quarter.

Ducler says the diamond drilling assays continue to demonstrate the potential for resource growth at Mandilla, with high-grade assays pointing to extensions at depth.

“Stepping out further to the northeast, drilling has continued to increase the extent of known mineralisation, with multiple high-priority targets still remaining to be tested at depth,” he told the market on Monday.

“The MRE update is well advanced and we look forward to updating the market as soon as it becomes available.”

Astral's reverse circulation drilling programs remain on track to kick off early in the September quarter at the Mandilla and Feysville projects.
