57 Chapters Working to Solve the World’s Greatest Challenges Ranging from Water Shortages to Clean Energy Access
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Feb. 7, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Singularity Group, an innovation company that believes technology and entrepreneurship can solve the world’s greatest challenges, today announced 25 new chapters have been added to the company’s global Chapters program. The addition of these Chapters brings the total number of Singularity Chapters to 57 worldwide in 28 countries.
Singularity Chapters are volunteer communities, each led by global ambassadors who have the goal of building, managing and developing communities that use exponential technology to create impact. Chapters work towards an Annual Impact Goal aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Exponential technologies follow a price-performance curve in which they rapidly fall in price while simultaneously becoming more sophisticated, powerful, accessible and scalable, and ultimately becoming democratized…readily available to all. They can be used to positively impact people and the planet. Artificial intelligence (AI), augmented and virtual reality (AR, VR), digital biology and biotech, nanotech and digital fabrication, networks and computing systems, robotics, and autonomous vehicles are a few examples.
“Chapters allow us to have a local presence in areas where we can build grassroots efforts with key constituents – governments, NGOs, academics, corporations and entrepreneurs. These Chapters work tirelessly to create a deep impact in their communities because like Singularity, they believe that the world’s greatest challenges are also the world’s greatest opportunities,” said Darlene Damm, Vice President of Community and Impact at Singularity Group.
“With over 100 applications for new Singularity Chapters submitted in the last year alone, we are excited to welcome 25 new Chapters to our rapidly growing program,” said Anuka Roinishvili, who oversees Singularity’s Chapters program. “The amount of interest in establishing new chapters shows that the world is ready for futuremakers like these who are dedicated to creating solutions that positively impact humanity.”
A recent example of the impactful work by Singularity’s Chapters, the Kyiv, Ukraine Chapter is partnering with Singularity Group and Unlimited Tomorrow to deliver free prosthetics to those injured by the war in Ukraine. The partnership has established a $1 million GoFundMe initiative to create and deliver free prosthetic limbs to 100 amputee victims.
