After the Town of Harwich, MA, found little success with its legacy online permitting software, leaders decided to partner with OpenGov, the leader in modern cloud ERP software for our nation’s cities, counties, and state agencies.

Recognizing issues with now legacy software provider Accela, the Town’s new Administrator stayed abreast of new software trends. His research of what other cities and towns were using led him to OpenGov Citizen Services. Through the new partnership, Town leaders plan to use OpenGov Citizen Services to update its permitting, licensing, and code enforcement processes.

OpenGov’s solution will allow the Town to fully automate its interactions with residents and business owners for services that range from special events permits to building permits and pet licenses to business licenses. The cloud technology will help Town staff save time managing permitting workflows while improving customer satisfaction. The code enforcement feature allows community members to confidentially report code violations online. Code violators can submit fee payments through the user-friendly customer portal. The software will help increase compliance for a cleaner, safer Town while increasing Town revenue.

The Town of Harwich joins more than 1,000 public sector organizations leveraging OpenGov to revolutionize work processes with cloud-based software designed specifically for the needs of government.
