CAMPBELL, Calif., September 23, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Rulai, a new enterprise conversational computing platform, has been named to the Forbes 2019 AI 50 list, the definitive ranking of the top 50 artificial intelligence companies, published by Forbes in partnership with Meritech Capital. Rulai was one of only eight companies in the list founded or co-founded by women.

“Advances in AI research are enabling companies to launch far more powerful virtual assistants than was possible in the past, ” comments Marc Vanlerberghe, CEO of Rulai, “For the first time, these “level 3″ virtual assistants can deliver a better customer experience, in addition to reducing costs, because they can handle typical human, non-linear conversations without getting confused. Today’s recognition from Forbes as one of the top 50 artificial intelligence companies further validates this promise and recognizes our leadership in bringing cutting-edge AI research in dialogue management to enterprises around the world”.

As part of the rigorous selection process for the Forbes 2019 AI 50, Meritech Capital received submissions from hundreds of AI startups, and created a shortlist of the 100 companies that showed the most traction and financial promise. Finally, a judging panel consisting of experts from public companies and academia, evaluated the companies based on their use of AI, as well as the quality of their technical team and business. They produced the final list of 50 winners.

“The companies on Forbes’ inaugural AI 50 list are wielding some subset of artificial intelligence in a meaningful way and demonstrating real business potential from doing so,” said Jillian D’Onfro, staff writer at Forbes. “For the startups and their customers alike, AI is having a financial impact.”

“Conversational AI is one of the most challenging domains in artificial intelligence,” says Prof. Yi Zhang, CTO and Co-founder of Rulai, “True level 3 virtual assistants can handle both variations in natural language and variations in conversational flow. Rulai’s Conversational Computing Platform is unique in achieving both without the need for custom coding”.

The Forbes 2019 AI 50 list is published online at Forbes.com and will appear in the October 2019 issue of Forbes magazine.
