SOMERVILLE, Mass., July 1, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Perceptive Automata, the leading provider of human behavior prediction artificial intelligence for machines, announced today that it has been named a 2019 Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum. Perceptive Automata combines innovative behavioral science techniques with state-of-the-art machine learning approaches to give machines human-like intuition that enables them to ‘read’ the state of mind of people.
The company is initially focusing on solving one of the hardest challenges for automated driving: predicting the likely behavior of vulnerable road users such as pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists so that automated vehicles can drive safely and smoothly in our human-dominated road environments. The fundamental research underpinning the company’s work was developed at Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
The World Economic Forum’s Technology Pioneers are early to growth-stage companies from around the world that are involved in the design, development, and deployment of new technologies and innovations, and are poised to have a significant impact on business and society.
“It’s an honor to be acknowledged by the World Economic Forum as an innovator in our space,” said Sid Misra, co-founder and CEO of Perceptive Automata. “This recognition is a testament to our team’s innovative thinking and hard work and further validates Perceptive Automata as a critical component for the deployment of increasingly automated vehicles on our roads. We are excited to work with the Forum and contribute to this ever-growing diverse and inspiring community.”
This year’s Tech Pioneers are emerging innovators from a diverse set of industries. These firms are shaping the future by advancing technologies such as AI, IoT, robotics, blockchain, biotechnology and many more. The focus areas of this year’s Tech Pioneers include agtech, smart cities, cleantech, supply chain, manufacturing, cybersecurity, autonomous vehicles, and drones.
