NEW YORK, Mar. 8, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Empress Media Asset Management (Empress), developer of the widely used eMAM™ media asset management platform, announces the beta release of eMAM Version 5.1. eMAM features tools for storage and archive management, manual and automated AI tagging, collaborative editing, digital publishing, and delivery. Version 5.1 has many new features, including eMAM Live, integrated with Drastic Technology’s Net-X-Code for live capture. eMAM Live will be featured during the “Live Workflows” webinar on March 26 at 11AM EST (https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/2425392206141926913) and at the Empress booth SL 10224 at the National Association of Broadcasters Convention in Las Vegas on April 8-11.
eMAM Live provides customers with live capture, log, edit and delivery of content, from multiple video sources. Using the most popular hardware encoders, including Telestream’s Lightspeed Live Capture, and Drastic Technology’s Net-X-Code server, live media can be previewed, tagged, subclipped, and marked within a web interface. Additionally, users can tag media using an event or sports-specific logging system from Dixon Sports or with leading artificial intelligence (AI) engines. AI engines from Amazon (Rekognition), Google (Video Intelligence and Speech-to-Text), IBM (Watson Video Enrichment and Speech-to-Text), Micro Focus (IDOL), Microsoft (Video Indexer, Computer Vision, and Faces) and VoiceBase provide automated video and image tagging and speech-to-text transcript creation.
James Brooks, CTO of Drastic Technologies added, “eMAM is the only asset management system that understands the importance of indexing media while recording. Customers can no longer afford to wait for an event to end before cataloging, editing and producing. With eMAM, it’s all real time processing.”
eMAM manages stored media on near-line and archive platforms, now also including Dell EMC ECS and cloud-based systems Google and Oracle. Metadata assigned to live media trigger collaborative editing using integrated extension panels, exclusive to Adobe Creative Cloud applications (Premiere, After Effects, InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator). With full cloud-based editing options, eMAM Version 5.1 also adds Dell Boomi, IBM Cloud (UStream), Signiant Flight integrations, an enhanced interface, and additional API flexibility.
David Miller, COO of Empress commented, “We are excited to work with Drastic Technologies to provide a powerful and affordable live capture option to extend the full life cycle of media assets on premise and in the cloud.”
