Curtains Fall on 20th CHTF Smart City Expo, but the Glory of Smart Cities Never Falls

SHENZHEN, China, Dec. 6, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — China Smart City Expo of the 20th China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF) co-hosted by State Information Centre (SIC) and International Data Group (IDG) came to a successful conclusion on 18th Nov., with curtains falling on another big event in the same period, the 2018 Asia-Pacific Smart City Development Forum on the 16th, wrapping up the year successfully.

Themed “Digital Transformation with AI”, this year’s Smart City Expo covered an exhibition area of 7500 sqm, invited dozens of popular exhibitors – the State Information Center, Huawei, PingAn Technology, ZTE, Navibook, Qixin, iSoftStone, Pactera and Tian’an Digital City, etc., to showcase their vision on smart city related areas such as smart government, 5G, smart cars, Internet of Things, AI, AR/VR, biomedicine, big data, etc. The leading smart cities of Shunyi, Fuzhou, Wuhai, Tianjin, Benxi, Shenyang, Wuxi, Liaoyuan, Changsha, Yiyang, Chancheng, Yuxi and Lanzhou exhibited their achievements in smart city on the spot, attracting some 380,000 visitors to the pavilion.

This forum included one main session and two parallel sessions. The main session was focused on “Digital Transformation with AI”, and the two parallel ones on “Artificial Intelligence Promotions in Smart City Development” and “Speeding Industry and Urban Development with Digital Transformation”. Moreover, a closed session among leaders of Asia-Pacific smart city industry, Asia-Pacific smart cities Project Fair, Presentation of China’s leading smart cities were held concurrently. Also, the list of award winners for the 2018 Asia-Pacific’s leading smart cities, China’s leading smart cities, Asia-Pacific leading corporations in smart city industry, China’s leading corporations in smart city industry was announced.

The forum attracted over 1000 attendees from various related fields, including Chinese officials at national, provincial and municipal levels, and experts, scholars, industry elites and media from China, Australia, Germany, Britain, Norway, etc. It focused on a new generation of information technology, AI and digital transformation, and invited attendees to discuss the focal points and hot-spot issues in the development of international smart cities and the current situation and trend of China’s smart cities and to explore how digital technology helps to accelerate the development and transformation of smart cities, how to apply the new generation of information technology to real life, and other topics such as growth models and business opportunities for Asia-Pacific smart cities.
