SIMI VALLEY, Calif., Nov. 1, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Airborne Wireless Network (OTC Pink: ABWN or the Company) is proud to announce that THINKING DIFFERENT TECHNOLOGIES B.V. doing business as TDT SYSTEMS, INC. (TDT) has completed the custom software necessary for the ongoing lab and field testing of the two Free Space Optics units and our contemplated two-plane flight test. The Company believes that this is significant because this software will be integral as the development of the contemplated Infinitus Super HighwaySM continues, subject to various factors. In addition, based upon the design of this software, the software can be updated to support any number of Free Space Optics units.
Michael J. Warren, Chief Executive Officer of ABWN stated: “We thank TDT for providing this custom software necessary for the Company’s continued testing as well as designing the software so that it can be expanded to support numerous Free Space Optics units. Even though this is a significant event, the Company still has additional testing and a lot of work going forward with many unknowns.”
Evert Van Den Brandhof, Director of TDT added: “I unequivocally state that the TDT software has been and is developed for Airborne Wireless Network with top quality and efficiency. We have been excited to complete and deliver this stage of the software.”
About Airborne Wireless Network
Airborne Wireless Network intends to create a high-speed broadband airborne wireless network by linking commercial aircraft in flight. It is projected that each aircraft participating in the network will act as an airborne repeater or router, sending and receiving broadband signals from one aircraft to the next and creating a digital information superhighway in the sky. The Company intends the network to be a high-speed broadband internet pipeline to improve coverage and connectivity. The Company does not intend to provide retail customer coverage to end users, but, instead, act as a wholesale carrier with target customers, such as internet service providers and telephone companies.
Currently, the world’s connectivity is achieved by use of undersea cables, ground-based fiber and satellites. The Company believes that the Company’s airborne digital highway may be a solution to fill the world’s connectivity void. The Company’s network, once developed, should provide low cost, high-speed connectivity to rural areas, island nations, ships at sea, oil platforms, in addition to connectivity to commercial and private aircraft in flight.
