This self-balancing robot, designed by a research physicist, uses state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence similar to that used in landing spacecraft and the latest array of advanced robots engineered by Boston Dynamics. The T-Bot is able to dynamically stabilise itself to maintain its balance while having enough processing headroom to respond to remote commands and sensor inputs.
The T-Bot is the ultimate robot for inquiring children, teenagers, hobbyists, tinkerers and DIY’ers to build for themselves while learning about technology, engineering and programming. It’s fun to build and a great way to learn programming with real programming languages.
The T-Bot comes as a precision-engineered modular kit. Each module has been carefully designed; quality tested and comes with comprehensive instructions explaining how to assemble the modules to make your own personal T-Bot. Instructional videos are also available to guide you through the process of putting your T-Bot together.
The T-Bot has been designed from the start to provide hands-on educational insight for students and engineers to learn about the mechanics, electronics, artificial intelligence, control systems and software for robotics technology as part of a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education program for students and enthusiasts.
Transparent laser-cut panels are used to showcase the inner workings and components that drive your T-Bot. All the operational code is provided in open source format so that the T-Bot can be used both as a fun toy as well as providing an introductory educational learning experience for programming micro-controllers, sensors, and motor drivers.
Explanatory educational texts and videos detailing how the T-Bot uses gyroscopic and accelerometer combination techniques, as used in the Apollo space mission to the moon, to maintain the T-Bots balance. Control techniques such as Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) control are explained.
Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning are hot topics in the scientific community. You can learn how to use your T-Bot and your PC to explore these concepts in real physical systems.
Your T-Bot includes a Bluetooth module for remote control and data retrieval. This makes it easy to control using the Bluetooth interface on your Android smartphone, tablet or personal computer.
