BOSTON, July 24, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Violence directed at nurses within hospitals is a growing concern that could soon spiral out of control. A survey conducted by the American Nurses Association found that 25 percent of more than 10,000 nurses and nursing students surveyed had been physically assaulted by a patient or a patient family member. The number of incidents continues to escalate. More nurses are reporting being victims of assaults. In addition, the opioid crisis is bringing more desperate patients into healthcare institutions.

“As a major education source on healthcare security issues, we highlight the trends and try to educate the profession on potential solutions,” says RD Whitney, CEO of Tarsus Direct. “Our Security in Healthcare Summit will attract many security experts who will discuss ways to deal with violence prevention.”

The Security in Healthcare Summit will bring together security directors, consultants and solution providers from all over the United States. Among sessions covered: Bridging the Gap Between IT and Physical Security, Measuring Progress with Dashboards and Metrics, Artificial Intelligence Comes to Healthcare Security, New Security Products You Need to See to Believe, and Violence Prevention: Report from Best Practices Facilities. The Security in Healthcare Summit will also provide several peer discussions around the newly released report, “Key Benchmarks in Healthcare Security.” This groundbreaking report will contain many tables, graphs and data on new security prevention policies, budgets, staff management and more, notes Mr. Whitney. “All attendees will receive complimentary copies of the study.”
