CHANTILLY, Va., July 24, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Lynn Dugle, Chairman, President and CEO of Engility (NYSE:EGL), has been selected as a 2018 Girlstart Outstanding Woman in STEM. Girlstart is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering girls in science, technology, engineering and mathematics with after-school, summer camp and other programs.  It honors a small number of women each year for their contributions to STEM fields and for promoting the empowerment of girls and women in STEM.

Lynn Dugle, Engility CEO

“Lynn has achieved a high degree of recognition in high-tech and government service sectors and served as a role model for today’s girls to be tomorrow’s STEM leaders,” said Tamara Hudgins, executive director of Girlstart. “We were impressed with her passion for activities and causes that support female leadership, science and education.”

Dugle will be honored September 19 at Girlstart’s annual Game Changers luncheon at the Junior League of Houston. The event raises funds to support Girlstart’s core initiatives, including free after-school programs, now reaching more than 2,700 girls at 69 high-need Texas schools. This year, former astronaut and retired Air Force Col. Eileen Collins will give the keynote address.

“Girlstart is a model program in advancing STEM education, which is critical for our country’s strategic efforts in fields such as space exploration, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity,” Dugle said. “Developing enthusiasm and STEM skills in these girls will help fill the talent pipeline necessary to maintain our national and economic security.”

Engility will sponsor a table at the Game Changers luncheon for 10 middle-school-age Girlstart participants to attend with a chaperone.
