LOS ANGELES, Feb. 1, 2018 /PRNewswire-iReach/ — Upload, Inc., a leading virtual and augmented reality (AR/VR, collectively XR) company focused on accelerating the growth and promise of XR, announces that Dr. Jacki Morie, virtual reality legend and pioneer, officially joined the Company as Vice President of Education in late fall of last year and has since been developing a new slate of hands-on courses for future leaders in VR, AR, and AI. Jacki’s impressive career includes creating the first computer animation training programs for Walt Disney Feature Animation, helping to found the Institute for Creative Technologies (ICT) at USC, and working with DARPA, NASA and other government agencies to drive VR forward. This strategic addition furthers Upload in its mission to positively impact all XR industries by leading the way in immersive education.

On February 19th, the Company will launch its one-week intensive Introduction to AR course, designed for those looking to enter the world of AR development and build their professional network. Later this year, Upload will add courses focused on WebXR, Immersive Performance, XR + Artificial Intelligence, XR + Blockchain and The Business of XR. Starting January 22nd, Upload started three new cohorts of its flagship ten-week Introduction to VR Development course at their San Francisco and Los Angeles locations.

Bringing with her more than 25 years of experience in developing research in the field of VR, Jacki joins the team at Upload eager to push the boundaries of immersive education and strengthen the industry’s core community to foster creativity and innovation in the field. Morie is no stranger to exploring uncharted lands in the world of VR. Her pioneering work started in 1989 at UCF’s Institute for Simulation and Training in Orlando Florida, where she developed techniques to make VR environments more immersive and emotionally compelling, ultimately being the first person to show VR work at a national film festival, The Florida Film Festival in 1992 and 1993.  Her recent work has involved expanding VR research to include neuroscience and avatars, developing methods to determine how such technologies can affect positive change and accelerated learning.
