NEW YORK, Jan. 25, 2018 /PRNewswire-iReach/ — LocateMotion, an IoT/AI healthcare tech startup has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funding for a new, innovative and affordable GPS smartwatch and iOS/Android app. The LocateMotion Caregiver Solution is an IoT/AI health tech device intended to help those responsible for caregiving and keeping track (location today and health in near future) of kids and seniors, and more specifically those with Alzheimer’s and Autism who are prone to wander.
This health tech solution is a GPS tracking device that can quickly locate, send SOS and also monitor (take picture and listen to surroundings) a loved one or patient. Fifty percent of those with Alzheimer’s disease and 60 percent of children with Autism are prone to wander. This can lead to serious harm, injury and even death.
“Our mission is actually quite simple, to help families stay together with a multi-functional, out-of-box and affordable smart solution,” said Nauman Jaffar, Founder of LocateMotion. “From autistic children who wander to tracking the daily habits of loved ones with Alzheimer’s or dementia, caregivers can quickly know the whereabouts of kids or seniors who do not carry smartphones. LocateMotion aims to be the ‘Find Company’ of the future.”
The Caregiver Solution and app tracks, locates, and remotely monitors loved ones and patients who wander quickly, enabling a safe, injury free return. The LocateMotion caregiver solution also has a number of other features to improve the daily lives of Autism and Alzheimer’s patients.
These health tech features include 3G/4G wireless connectivity, 2+ day battery charge, SOS calling, geo-fencing, audio and voice messaging, built-in camera which can be remotely managed, location history, life-proof and waterproof, activity and medication scheduling, and other health and safety-minded features. The person with Alzheimer’s or Autism wears the watch, and the caregiver manages and tracks via the app.
“With over 5.5 million people living with Alzheimer’s disease just in the US and new diagnoses every 67 seconds, a GPS/IoT/AI solution is the perfect solution to ensure that those who wander have a speedy and safe return without injury,” said Advisory Member Alister Campbell. “The Caregiver Solution and the Kickstarter campaign will help accelerate the pace at which we can bring this urgently needed solution to a wide audience.”
The goal of the Kickstarter campaign is to raise funding to make the Caregiver Watch available globally. Currently, the 3G/4G built-in SIM works in Canada and northern regions of the United States (via roaming). The Kickstarter funding will help us take this solution global, helping all loved ones with kids, seniors and caregivers of Autism and Alzheimer’s safe.
LocateMotion’s Advisory Board has the global experience to make the Caregiver Watch a global solution, accessible to everyone. It is comprised of CEOs, CIOs, and CCOs from leading global companies in industries such as management consulting, big data, artificial intelligence, IoT and insurance.
The advisory board includes: Will Falk, former North America Lead HealthCare PWC, Alister Campbell, former CEO Zurich Canada, Saliq Khan, VP, Imperial Capital, IoT, Smart Home, Security, and Dr. Imran Ahmed, Big Data, AI, Deep Learning, and Lead at Canadian Immigration.
The Kickstarter campaign will run until February 8, 2018. Those interested in making a positive and immediate impact in the lives of those living with Alzheimer’s, Dementia and Autism can easily fund via the LocateMotion Kickstarter Page. LocateMotion is also actively seeking investors.
