SparkCognition and British Army Collaborate to Advance Artificial Intelligence Applications for Defense

AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 4, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — SparkCognition has announced a new engagement with the British Army, providing collaborative thought leadership on the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in future warfare. Specifically, the AI company’s Defense team will consult with the British Army on the role of machine learning in military applications and contribute to research on future military planning. This partnership focuses on how operations can be streamlined using AI technologies today.

The Defense and Military teams of SparkCognition recently gained new leadership with Wendy R. Anderson joining as General Manager of Defense. Anderson, who has more than 20 years of experience in defense, foreign policy, and homeland security, joins a specialized team that includes Executive Board Member General John Allen (USMC, Ret.) and Chief Architect of Defense Major General Ken Wisian, Ph.D. (ANG, Ret.).

The project between SparkCognition, the British Army, and Ministry of Defense will be coordinated through RED Scientific, a technical support and consulting company.

The U.S. Department of Defense Innovation Unit, DIUx, recently awarded a contract to SparkCognition to augment senior level decision-making for the U.S. Air Force.
