Humanoid Robot Sophia, Speaker in the Blockchain Forum at the IoT Solutions World Congress

BARCELONA, Spain, Sept. 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — The humanoid robot Sophia will speak at the IoT Solutions World Congress (http://www.iotsworldcongress.com) as a panellist on two round tables of the Blockchain Solutions Forum, a side event within the industrial internet of things trade show organised by Fira de Barcelona. On 4 October, Sophia will discuss the exciting future for humanity promised by the convergence of emerging technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, robotics, 3D printing and the Internet of Things.
Sophia is amongst the 365 international speakers featured in the IoT Solutions World Congress (IoTSWC) and the Blockchain Solutions Forum from October 3 to 5, and event comprised in the Barcelona Industry Week. IoTSWC is the world’s leading event for the industrial internet and the only one that combines exhibition space, knowledge transfer, testbeds and professional networking at the highest level.
Speakers include MIT Media Lab’s, Joe Paradiso; cybersecurity expert and Chief Research Officer at F-Secure Corporation, Mikko Hyppönen; Director of Customer Planning Operations at American Airlines, Mark Matthews, and the head of integration at NASA’s Orion Mission Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle Carlos García-Galan. The IoTSWC will have an area of 11 testbeds for visitors to see the industrial internet in action. There will be elevators, boats, drones, connected irrigation systems, oil platform inspection robots and systems to prevent early frost in orchards. The area will showcase solutions for improving occupational safety in industry, eliminating downtime in factories and interconnecting machines and processes, as well as a cold chain logistics management system and a demonstration of how to prevent cyberattacks.
IoTSWC will demonstrate the rapid IoT growth forecasts across multiple sectors. Visitors to the last edition planned to invest in IoT systems more than 13,000 million euros until 2020, according to a survey made by the organization.
