Lions Clubs International, the world’s largest service organization, elected Brian E. Sheehan as the organization’s international president for its 2022-2023 year during its 104th International Convention in Montréal, Canada.

Founder and CEO of Rural Computer Consultants, a software development company, President Sheehan will focus on strengthening Lions Clubs International and the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF).

“Our organization means so much to the people who are serving as Lions,” said Sheehan. “But it means even more to the people we’re serving.”

Sheehan will oversee a global membership growth initiative that is designed to empower local clubs and continue the positive membership growth from 2021-22. To help meet the growing needs of our communities, Sheehan is encouraging clubs to undertake big, ambitious service projects that can increase Lions’ local and global impact. He will also work with Lions to build on the success of LCIF’s Campaign 100, which surpassed its $300 million dollar goal this year.

President Sheehan’s message for the year is “Together We Can,” which is a call for Lions and people around the world to embrace teamwork and a passion for innovation in order to create solutions to the challenges we face.

“Each of us can do so much good on our own, but together we can make the impossible, possible,” said Sheehan. “And together, we can make our communities—and the world—a better place for all people.”

A member of the Bird Island Lions Club since 1991, Sheehan has held many offices within the association, including Global Membership Team liaison, Global Leadership Team area leader, chairperson of the Headquarter Operation and Finance Committee, Lions University coordinator, and board appointee to several committees.

In recognition of his service to the association, he has received numerous awards including Club Lion of the Year, the Founders Membership Growth Award, International President’s Leadership Award, multiple International President’s Awards, and the Ambassador of Good Will Award, the highest honor the association bestows upon its members.

In addition to his service as a Lion, Sheehan is active in numerous professional and community organizations. He has served as president of Bird Island Civic and Commerce, director of the Learning Funhouse and as a member of various school committees. He also received the 2011 U.S. SBA Minnesota Small Businessperson of the Year Award.

President Sheehan and his wife, Lori, who is also a Lion and Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow, have two sons and two daughters. This dynamic team is committed to doing good work in the community and serving those in need worldwide.
