BERLIN, October 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ —

– The interactive business festival will take place on 28 November in Berlin

– 2,500 participants, 500 start-ups, 130 speakers, 7 stages; and for the first time with Policy Arena and Digital Arts Lab

– From blockchain to artificial intelligence to virtual reality, hub.berlin provides inspiration for the business of tomorrow

In the future, digital technologies will play a decisive role in the success of businesses in all sectors and will shape our society. But how can Big Data, Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence or Virtual Reality be applied today? What will the digital cities of the future look like, how will intelligent mobility change logistics and transport and what will a fully digitalised financial or healthcare system look like? 130 top-class speakers will answer these and the many more questions of digitisation at hub.berlin on 28 November. “Inspiration from digital masterminds, hands-on technology and practical advice for your own company – that’s what hub.berlin is all about,” says Bitkom CEO Dr. Bernhard Rohleder. “hub.berlin brings together start-ups and global players with SMEs, scientists and politicians.”

The sixth hub.berlin takes place in the ‘Station Berlin’. Speakers will include Federal Minister of Economics Brigitte Zypries, Frank Appel, CEO Deutsche Post DHL Group; Carsten Kengeter, CEO Deutsche Börse and Peter Terium, CEO Innogy SE. Exciting insights will also be provided by Miriam Wohlfarth, Founder and Managing Director RatePAY; Fabian Schmitt, Senior Vice President, Technical Development E-Mobility Deutsche Post DHL Group; John Underkoffler, Founder and CEO Oblong Industries; Sabine Eckhardt, CCO ProSiebenSat.1 Media; Dominic Eskofier, Head of Virtual Reality NVIDIA; James Hairston, Head of Public Policy Oculus and many more.

500 start-ups and 2,500 participants are expected. In addition to keynotes and discussions on seven stages, there will be two areas with practice-oriented workshops and, for the first time, a dedicated policy arena. There, topics such as digital society, democracy in the digital age and the digitization processes of globalization will be discussed with politicians from Germany and Europe. “Digital first must be the political motto for Germany and Europe in the coming years,” says Rohleder. “We need an open and critical exchange between companies, society and politics. Digitisation is not a natural phenomenon; it is something we all shape.”

Additionally, ten artists will present their work at the newly created Digital Arts Lab of hub.berlin, where interaction between digitization, technology and art play a central role. The hub.berlin is supported by Accenture, Deutsche Telekom and KPMG.
